Overview

Prutha Jain (b.1997, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh) completed her BFA, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, 2019, and MFA, Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida, 2021.

Her works have been exhibited in group shows at Lalit Kala Akademi, Surat, 2016; Swaraj Kala Vithika, Bhopal, 2018; Indian Film Project, 2018; Tulika Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2024; and Fluxus Chapel, Mumbai, 2024.

She was awarded the Shree Dhirubhai Chowdhary Award, Student of the Year, Surat, 2016; Lt. Shree Jasubhai Naik Scholarship, Surat, 2017; and Best Display in Sculpture Specialisation, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, 2019.

Her practice is rooted in public art, cultural memory, and social histories, combining process-driven, site-specific engagements with her background in critical research and writing. Moving fluidly between making, curating, and pedagogy, she explores how art intervenes in collective experiences while reinterpreting objects and histories of social and cultural significance.

Prutha lives and works in Baroda, Gujarat, India.
