Durga Prasad Chaganti (b.1994, Anakapalle, Andhra Pradesh) completed his MFA in Sculpture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, 2017.
His works have been exhibited in group shows at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. 2019; Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2020, etc.
He has been the recipient of the South Zone Award, Student category (Drawing and Pastels), Kokuyo Camlin Art Foundation, Mumbai, 2014; the Annual Kala Sakshi Art Scholarship, New Delhi, 2016; Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Chennai; and Kala Sakshi Memorial Trust, New Delhi.
His practice is rooted in indigenous art and craft, where sustainable traditions meet contemporary innovation. Working with diverse materials like wood, terracotta, ceramics, stone, tamarind, and scrap, he explores their infinite symbolic and aesthetic possibilities. Drawing from the traditional Dhokra technique, he creates a visual language that connects cultural heritage with contemporary relevance.
Durga Prasad lives and works in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, India.
