Overview

Darshan Manjare (b.1996, Kolhapur, Maharashtra) completed his BFA and MFA in Painting at Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, 2019, 2023.

His works have been exhibited in group shows at Nine Fish Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2022; Nippon Gallery, Mumbai, 2023; Mohanjeet × TAK Contemporary, Paris, 2025.

He was awarded the Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Award, 2018, and the Late Shri Ved Anil Abhage Best Painting Award, Bombay Art Society, 2022. His residencies include Arthshila × Khoj Residency, Bihar, 2022; Hissa Art Residency, Surat, 2023; and Apre Art Residency, 2024.

His practice is rooted in the essence of rural life, intertwined with the richness of traditional architecture, which stands as a representation of cultural forms shaped by climate, tradition, and heritage. By preserving these aesthetics, he creates a dialogue between nature and human life, inviting viewers to experience their harmony.
