Overview

Chandrapal Panjre (b. 1990, Raipur, Chhattisgarh) completed his BFA and MFA in Painting, IKSV, Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh, 2016, 2018.

His works have been exhibited in solo shows at Triveni Gallery, New Delhi, 2020; Arushi Art Gallery, New Delhi, 2022; Saraca Art Gallery, Lucknow, 2024; Sridharni Gallery, New Delhi, 2025; and Surendra Paul Art Gallery, Sangeet Syamala, New Delhi, 2025.

He has been awarded the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation State Award, 2017; Junior Research Fellowship, Ministry of Culture, Government of India; Madhya Pradesh State Award, 2021; Upadhyay Foundation Arts Grant, 2024. He was selected for Chitrashala, a Residency at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, 2024.

His practice draws from Madhya Pradesh tribal culture, particularly Kanha forest, blending "gudari" traditional style with contemporary art. Through stitching, layering, and binding discarded fabrics, he forges boundary-transcending narratives that merge personal meditation with collective history, provoking reflection.
