Chandrapal Panjre (b. 1990, Raipur, Chhattisgarh) completed his BFA and MFA, Painting, Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh, 2016, 2018.


His works have been exhibited in solo shows at Triveni Gallery, New Delhi, 2020; Arushi Art Gallery, New Delhi, 2022; Saraca Art Gallery, Lucknow, 2024; Sridharni Gallery, New Delhi, 2025; and Surendra Paul Art Gallery, Sangeet Syamala, New Delhi, 2025. He was selected for the Chitrashala Residency, Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, 2024.


Chandrapal draws inspiration from the material culture of tribal communities in Madhya Pradesh, especially those from the Kanha forest. He uses stitching, layering, and binding of discarded fabrics as meditations on personal and collective history. Using the traditional style of “gudari” (mattress), he blends history and tradition with contemporary art, forging narratives that transcend socio-cultural boundaries and invoke reflection.


Chandrapal lives and works in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.
