KASHIN PATEL b. 1997

Kashin Patel (b. 1997, Mumbai, Maharashtra) received her BFA in Painting, Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, 2020, and MA, Royal College of Art, London, 2022.

She has exhibited her work in solo shows at RuptureXIBIT +studio, London, 2022, and Method Bandra, Mumbai, 2023. Her works have been exhibited in group shows at Ikattha, Mumbai, 2019; Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2020; Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, 2020.

Her practice is rooted in meditations on the creative process, where anxiety, repetition, and mark-making become ways of recording time. Beginning with drawing, she embraces its intimacy and immediacy, allowing transient thoughts to evolve into reflections of psychological and emotional states. Her works expand into text, diagrams, and even meme-making, opening playful and layered extensions of practice.

Kashin lives and works in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
