Space118 Art Foundation Fine Arts Grant 2024:
Space118 Art Foundation invites applications from artists across India for its Production Grant, supporting the realization of both ongoing and newly conceived projects. Conceived as a platform for artistic exploration and development, the programme brings together financial support, mentorship, and opportunities for public engagement.
Selected artists receive a grant bursary ranging from INR 15,000 to INR 1,00,000, enabling them to further develop and realize their work. Alongside this financial support, the grant emphasizes sustained dialogue and critical exchange. Each recipient takes part in two online mentorship sessions, along with a review session, with a senior or mid-career practitioner chosen by the jury, offering guidance tailored to their individual practices.The programme also creates avenues for visibility beyond the studio. Through a Virtual Open Studio Day, grantees present their work to wider audiences via Space118’s digital platforms, including Instagram and Facebook, extending engagement with their projects in an accessible online format.
Project proposals and budgets are carefully reviewed and finalized in consultation with the jury and Space118 prior to the commencement of the grant. The jury for the 2024–25 cycle includes Lekha Poddar, Sabih Ahmed, Sakshi Gupta, and Soumya Sankar Bose, whose diverse perspectives inform the selection process.
Mentorship for the year is led by an accomplished group of practitioners, including Pushpamala N, Monica Narula, Lekha Poddar, Mahesh Baliga, Mithu Sen, Shaina Anand, and Jeebesh Bagchi. Their engagement brings a range of insights and approaches, supporting artists as they develop and present their work.
