THE Indian contingent at Venice Biennale has effectively taken over, some would say—with over 300 of India’s top collectors, gallerists and artists moving in a tight loop of previews, pavilions and parties.

Isha Ambani, chief patron of the India Pavilion, is expected to fly in from the Met Gala and go straight into hosting mode. And then there’s Amin Jaffer—the man behind the India Pavilion—let’s just say, he’s proving as much of a draw as the art itself.

Chemould Prescott Road marks a moment with Dana Awartani at the Saudi Pavilion, while Vadehra and Experimenter have Himali Singh Soin and Sohrab Hura representing strongly. It’s not just artists and gallerists. Evenings? A relay—celebrations for Kiran Nadar’s 75th, gatherings around Nalini Malani, and Ministry-led dinners. Poonam Bhagat, Vasudha Ruia and Saloni Doshi are all in attendance.
