The colour of hope
SPACE 118 and Sakshi Gallery have decided to put up their current show online, given the immense success it has seen. Curator Saloni Doshi selected the works of these 20 young artists as, having followed their practice very closely, she believes they have shown incredible talent and resilience over the years. The show titled ‘All Is Not Lost 20:20:20’ is the artists’ “response to the uncertainty of the times we live in, and our very human, but futile attempts to hold on to experiences and memories,” she writes in her curatorial note. In the list of participating artists, your diarist was delighted to spot Purvai Rai, renowned photographer Raghu Rai’s daughter, and Namrita Bachchan, Ajitabh Bachchan’s daughter. Some of the other artists who are part of this super successful show are Parul Gupta, Ayesha Singh, Chinmoyi Patel, Tarini Sethi, Roshan Chhabria and Soham Gupta, who was selected for the Venice Biennale last year. Not only were the artworks snapped up by collectors, almost 15 out of the 20 artists now also have gallery representation because of the show.
