Utkarsh Shakya b. 2002
Utkarsh Shakya (b.2002, Etah, Uttar Pradesh) completed his Diploma in Fine Arts-Painting, Sanskruti School of Fine Art, 2020 and BFA, College of Art, Delhi, 2024.
His works have been exhibited in group shows at the College of Art, New Delhi, 2023, 2024; Art Junction, The Lalit, New Delhi, 2025; and Abhivyakti Edition-7, Ahmedabad, 2025.
He was selected for Residency at Space Studio, Baroda, 2025.
His practice is rooted in close observation of everyday life, capturing the unnoticed moments left behind in the chaos. With a strong focus on light, depth and perspective, his works are layered with subtle humour. He tries to portray unique stories from North Indian marriages that echo through generations, showcasing the vivid, unsaid feelings and moments of the various situations he notices.
Utkarsh currently lives and works in Delhi, India.
