Payal Rajput (b.1997, Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, India) completed her BVA, Painting and MVA, Mural from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, 2021. Her works have been exhibited in group shows in India at Gallery Dotwalk at Bikaner House, New Delhi, 2023, Ark Foundation for the Arts, Vadodara, 2023, Online Masters Degree Show, Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU, presented by Space118, 2021, Amdavad ni Gufa, Ahmedabad, India, 2021 and Fine Arts Gallery, Vadodara, 2017.

She has been one of the winners of Space118 Fine Arts Grant, 2022-23 and participated in Community Action Program - Project Eco Walk by Arunkumar HG, SARA Center, Karnataka, 2017. She has participated in Raku Workshop under Shampa Shah, 2017 and Digital Media workshop under Aziz Sharafi, 2016. Additionally, she is also an art educator.

In this series, Payal explores spaces from her ancestral home in Shahbazpur and her current city residence, reflecting shifts in place, memory, and nostalgia—intensified after moving to Baroda, where ghar remains Bijnore and Baroda - her new residence, become just a town name. Layering and masking with tissue paper evoke the fading presence of abandoned rural structures, revealing what is hidden, lost, or nearing its end.

Payal Rajput lives and works in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
