Sashikanth Thavudoz (b. Hyderabad, Telangana, India) completed his MVA from Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara, 2011. He has participated in various solo and group shows including at Lecart Art Gallery, Canada, 2018, Jaipur Sculpture Park, Jaipur, Rajasthan, 2018-19, India Art Fair, New Delhi, 2019, 2020, Tapi Utsav, Surat, Gujarat, 2020, and CSMVS, Mumbai, Maharashtra, 2022. His talent and dedication have been recognized through various accolades, including the Nasreen Mohammadie Scholarship in 2008, the Jeram Patel Best Display Award in 2009, and the Inlaks Fine Art Award in 2013. Sashikant has also had the privilege of participating in prestigious residencies, such as the Last Ship Monsoon residency in Mumbai in 2011, the Art-City residency at Studio X Mumbai in 2012, the Sandarbh Site-Specific art residency in Partapur, Rajasthan in 2012, Khoj Peers residency in New Delhi in 2012, Art-City residency at Space Studios Vadodara, and the Alserkal Avenue residency in Dubai in 2019. Through his work, Sasikanth studies angles, structures, monochromes, neon lights, and classifications. Sashikant's art challenges usual perceptions, highlighting the complex relationship between human-made structures and the natural world. How materials function as a container for thoughts and information are communicated through his art. Sashikanth lives and works in Vadodara, Gujarat, India.
