Isha Itwala has attained her Bachleor’s in Visual Art , Maharaja Sayajirao University Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda (2017) and also holds a Master’s in Visual Art, Maharaja Sayajirao University Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda (2019). She has exhibited her work at Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda (2016, 2017), and C.V.M. College of Fine Arts (2014). She has also been the recipient of Nasreen Mohammadi Scholarship for her work during Undergraduate College.

Isha’s recent series of works titled “the other side of a city” which is a fictional narrative of her experiences in Mumbai and have tried to archive them. She has taken elements of the city like ‘Tetrapods’ which by its form fascinated her to build a picture that might say more than its physicality. Her practice being surrounded by the subject of a Body, Gender and Violence, she has related these forms as phallic shapes that talks about the history of queer identities and communities of Bombay. Images of crabs and a young girl to show how we as human connect to our surroundings and vice versa. It talks about impermanence, mortality and the transient nature of life.
