Ayushi Ojha b. 1999

Overview

Ayushi Ojha (b. 1999, Muzaffarpur, Bihar, India) completed her BVA, Painting, Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara, 2022 and is pursuing a MAVA, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, New Delhi. Her work has been exhibited in group shows at ArtIncept, Gurugram, 2025, 2023; India Art Fair, 2024; Dhoomimal Gallery, New Delhi, 2022 and Space Studio, Vadodara, 2022. 

 

She has been an artist in residence at Space Studio, Vadodara, 2022, the Grass Court/Incubator Residency, 2022 and German Embassy, New Delhi, 2024. She was awarded the Inception Grant by ArtIncept in 2023. She has worked as a Research Associate and Coordinator for Jogen Chowdhury, 2023 and assisted curator and writer Jesal Thacker, 2024. 

 

Ayushi’s practice explores ecological bodies and more-than-human relationships through drawing, movement, and embodied engagement with natural forms. Working primarily with large-scale charcoal drawings, she approaches drawing as both ritual and inquiry, creating immersive spaces where body, materiality, and ecological presence intersect.

Proposed Project:

Shamiana installation and Body Projection (Interactive Mapping) Project

Project Overview:

Project explores the relationship between ecology and the body through a Shamiana-inspired installation based on the Aravalli landscape and an interactive body-mapping project using drawings of her eczema. Together, the works examine ideas of care, coexistence, and porous boundaries between humans and nature.
