Gyanwant Yadav b. 1992
Gyanwant Yadav (b. 1992, Pratapgarh, U.P., India) completed his BFA and MFA, College of Art, University of Delhi, New Delhi 2017, 2019. His works have been exhibited in group shows at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, New Delhi, 2024; Nine Fish Art Gallery, Mumbai, 2022; Emami Art, 2020 and All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society, New Delhi, 2016–2017.
He has been an artist in residence at the Gram Art Project by FICA, New Delhi, 2024; Arthshila × Khoj Residency, Sivan Bihar, 2022 and Serendipity, Goa, 2019. He is a recipient of the Art for Hope Grant by Hyundai, 2025, the Birla Annual Exhibition Painting Shared Award, 2025, the Generator Cooperative Art Production Fund, 2024, the Inlaks Fine Art Award, 2023 and the Lalit Kala Akademi Scholarship, 2022–23.
Gyanwant’s practice explores land, labour, ecology, and collective memory through painting, installation, and site-specific interventions. Using soil, clay, found objects, and agricultural materials, he investigates how landscapes are shaped by human activity, environmental change, and lived histories.
