Mousumi Rajak India, b. 1992

Mousumi Rajak (b. 1992, West Bengal, India) completed her BFA and MFA, Painting, Government College of Art and Craft, Calcutta, 2021. Her works have been exhibited in group shows at Birla Akademi of Art, Delhi, 2023 and Abir Foundation, Ahmedabad, 2022. 

Mousumi’s work centers around the everyday experiences of ordinary life. She draws inspiration from the emotions and moments that define the daily lives of the people around her. A significant influence on her artistic approach is miniature painting, particularly its unique perspective and the intricate way it captures both the interior and exterior of architectural spaces. Through this lens, she is able to portray a rich tapestry of surrounding activities, seamlessly blending environment and human presence in her work. 

Mousumi lives and works in Bongaon, West Bengal, India.
