Hansika’s work revolves around the color indigo, the complexity of embroidered surfaces and the transformative power of self-reflection. She draws deep connections between the historical and political significance of indigo and its mysterious chemical transformation from green to deep blue. This transformation resonates with her personal journey, reflecting the dual nature of indigo as both a symbol of melancholy and a source of calm. Since 2020, her work has shifted towards organic, free-flowing forms resembling roots and the nervous system. This change represents a deeper personal inquiry, questioning the mysteries of life, strength and the supernatural.
Hansika Sharma lives and works in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
