Nandita Mukand (b.1975, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India) got her BFA from Goldsmith College, London via LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. She also has a degree in Electronics Engineering and is an alumna of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

Nandita Mukand’s practice spans sculpture, installation, and painting, and explores the boundaries between the artificial and the natural. She transforms urban materials into organic forms, prompting a critical reflection on the encroachment of human activity into the natural world. Drawing from Buddhist texts, quantum physics, ontology, and neuroplasticity, her work meditates on growth, decay, and the psychological ramifications of urban life. She also creates installations using natural materials like dead plants and dried flowers, thematically engaging with vulnerability, resilience, entropy, and the experiential passage of time.

She has had multipla Solo Shows including ones at Flaneur Gallery, Singapore (2015); One East Asia, Singapore (2017-2018); Miaja Gallery (in collaboration with Ikkan Art Gallery), Singapore (2019) and The Columns Gallery, Singapore (2020). Her selected group shows include, Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, Australia (2015); Chan Hampe Gallery, Singapore (2016); Fundació L’Olivar Summer Exhibition, Spain (2016); The Private Museum, Singapore (2019); National Gallery Singapore (in conjunction with the Gallery Children’s Biennale) (2022); OpenART Biennale, Sweden (2017); Sovereign Asian Art Prize Exhibition, Hong Kong (2021).

She lives and works in Singapore.
