“Thanks for inviting me to this residency. It was a good place to work on my Varna project, with the assistance of Sarah Jenkins in which we created self-portraits with multi-colours and multi castes. I look forward to keeping in touch.”
Antonio received his Bachelors in Art from Academy of Art in San Francisco and Coe College, Iowa followed by a J.D. degree from the University of Iowa. He has exhibited his work in solo exhibitions all over the world including Art Depot, Austria, The Guild, NY, the Loft Gallery, India, Nu Art Gallery in Santa Fe, Twelve Gates, Philadelphia, Philadelphia Art Alliance. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions worldwide including venues such as Essl Museum, Austria, Hammond Museum, NY, Queens Museum, NY, Gallery Espace, New Delhi, Edsviks Konsthall, Stockholm, MOP Gallery, Sydney, Musee du Chateau, France, Corcoran Gallery in Washington DC, and Minneapolis Institute of Arts, USA, among others. He has attended residencies in Hungary, Bulgaria, South Africa, Serbia, Mauritius, India, Denmark, and Romania. Puri’s overarching concern is to create art that embraces the possibility that we can exist in a world free from categorical labels.
