Anisha Debbarman is a visual artist and researcher whose practice focuses on charcoal and watercolour pencil drawings that evoke the quiet power of animal and human silhouettes. She holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Development Studies from IIT Madras (2015) and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Habitat Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Her academic and creative interests often intersect, reflecting a deep engagement with space, identity, and the social world. She was selected as one of 50 delegates for the Forum of Contemporary Studies in Baroda and has received the Air India Association Merit Scholarship (2000–2008). Anisha has also contributed to cultural life at IIT Madras, volunteering at Saarang in 2010 and performing in hostel productions in 2010 and 2014.
