Founded in 2009 by art patron and collector Saloni Doshi, Space118 Art Foundation supports artists through grants, residencies, and structured mentorship initiatives nationally and internationally. Since 2020, through its Grant Initiatives, the Foundation has strengthened its commitment to supporting new artistic production via financial assistance, mentorship, creative programming, and sustained online community engagement. With a continued focus on multidisciplinary practices, it ensures access to critical artistic resources beyond physical and cultural barriers.
The Space118 Art Foundation Fine Arts Grant invites applications from artists across India for production support ranging from INR 15,000 to INR 1,00,000 for new or ongoing projects, alongside mentorship and professional review. The jury for the Space118 Art Foundation Fine Arts Grant 2022-23 was Lekha Poddar, Dr Arshiya Lokhandwala and Neha Choksi. The jury for the Space118 Art Foundation Fine Arts Grant 2023-24 was Lekha Poddar, Nikhil Chopra, Srinivas Aditya Mopidevi and Sumakshi Singh. The jury for the Space118 Art Foundation Fine Arts Grant 2024-25 was Lekha Poddar, Sakshi Gupta, Soumya Sankar Bose and Sabih Ahmed. The jury for the Space118 Art Foundation Fine Arts Grant 2025-26 was Lekha Poddar, Sakshi Gupta, Aaron Cezar, Premjish Achari, and Manisha Parekh. The jury for our forthcoming Grant, 2026-27, is Lekha Poddar, Mario D'Souza, Ayesha Singh, Natasha Ginwala and Manisha Parekh.
Launched in 2025, the Space118 Art Foundation Curatorial Research Grant is a research and travel-based initiative supporting curators engaged with contemporary Indian art discourse. Developed in collaboration with Sharjah Art Foundation, the grant aims at fostering international dialogue and institutional engagement for emerging curators and art professionals.
